+54Rod Bending Charters offers an exciting range of fishing charters along the waters of Galveston Bay! Captain Jason Woods has been fishing the Gulf since he was a child and has turned his hobby into a trade on the very same waters. He’s passionate about helping first-time anglers and children make their first catch.
Head out on a 24’ Tidewater center console boat, powered by a 250 HP Yamaha engine. Propelling you to speeds of 40 knots, you’ll reach the hottest fishing spots in no time. The boat has a GPS, fishfinder, VHF, sonar, and includes a live bait tank to get the most out of each fishing trip. There is a porta potty in the center console. Sun junkies can use most areas of the boat, catching the rays while casting, while the T-top protecting the center console ensures that you have room to cool off.
You’ll be provided with high-quality rods and reels. To make your catch, you’ll try out a range of fishing techniques, such as jigging, popping, and bottom fishing, and Capt. Jason and his crew will be more than happy to lend a helping hand.
Half and full day trips will have you targeting big Red Fish, Trout, black drum, flounder, Jack Crevalle, and Sharks, amongst others, but you can also target Sharks on more specialized trips.
Rod Bending Charters love to have families on their trips, so bring the kids for a fun day on the water. They do their best to put you on the fish, and ensure you have a great time out on the water. All you need to bring is your snacks, drinks & fishing license. If you are successful, you’ll even be able to take your catch home with you, cleaned and prepared for you to warm up.

Half Day Jetty/Ship Channel (PM) on November 16, 2024
Captain Conner was a great host, very knowledgeable and kind. I totally forgot to buy tags for drum catches so I could not keep, however within 10 minutes of casting we hooked on to two huge red drums on two rods in one go! What a fight it was and it was my PB , also caught a variety of other fish and Captain Conner would help unhook and share some cools facts about everything we caught before releasing which was very appreciated. Recommended this to anyone who wants to fish with their family/kids or catch a PB for your first time, Rob bending charters and Captains like Conner will take care of you and help you create memories for a lifetime. Thank you!

Half Day Jetty/Ship Channel (PM) on July 27, 2024
My 10 year old son and I went on a 4-hr jetty trip with Captain Connor. It had been raining all day and rained the first half of the trip, so we knew it might be hit or miss. Connor did his very best to put us on fish, even moving away from a spot if we weren’t catching anything worthwhile. We caught a bunch of fish: sheepshead, croaker, undersized trout, little jack, a cow nosed ray. Only a few were keepers, but we had a great time reeling in fish. Connor was extremely gracious and patient with us. I would definitely recommend Rod Bending Charters.

Full Day Jetty/Ship Channel (AM) on October 14, 2024
Took my two teenage daughters with almost zero fishing experience and we had a great time. Everybody caught keeper fish and we stayed busy the entire 6 hours. Never know how fishing will go - somehow our day turned into a grand slam of sting ray fishing catching three different species including getting a 150 lb monster up to the boat. Connor was great and he did a great job teaching the girls everything they needed to know.
