Dockside Adventures
If you’re ready to start fishing in San Juan Del Sur, book a trip with Dockside Adventures. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Luis knows them forwards and back.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Roosterfish, Jack Crevalle, Sailfish, Black Marlin, Striped Marlin, Pacific Barracuda, Grouper, Snapper, and whatever else is biting.
On these trips, you can expect to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. The charter specializes in casting for Roosterfish. Capt. Luis also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Trips with Dockside Adventures are kid-friendly, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Also, remember to bring snacks – luckily, Capt. Luis will have some on board!
You’ll be fishing aboard a 40’ Eduardo center console with space for 5 passengers. It has all the essentials. Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, as well as lures. Live bait is included.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. It’s customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for some fishing! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain. It’s recommended to bring sunglasses and sunscreen. There will be bottled water and ice onboard.

Awesome team! Great times!
Booked way last minute, they did nothing but accommodate. Owners are great,and very communicative. Cruised up to the boat, which is bada**. I knew I was pretty out of season for the fish I would like to target, but they still took me out and had me try for those species(which as a stubborn fly fisherman, let me try is all I can ask for) and just like the cap, deckhand and owners said nothing happened. Went around and got some black and white tuna after that that was super fun to target. I had an absolute blast. Beers, ceviche,rum,water and fishing? Awesome day!

6 Hour Trip – Offshore
What an afternoon!
I've taken several charters and fished in many countries but you wont find a higher level of service, knowledge of the area, and overall friendliness than Dockside experience. Luis is fantastic, the boat and equipment are everything and more that you could want, and Edward, the owner, along with the staff at Dockside, make you feel like family. The restaurant and sundries store provide the best pre trip staging and post trip chilling area with some of the best fish tacos and wagu beef burger we have found, not to mention the yuca chips! (We bought them out both times on the 2 trips we took to San Juan.) On top of all this, you get the best view of the bay after the day is done. All in all, if you want to have a place to hang your hat in San Juan, Edward and the crew at Dockside cant be beat! 5 stars all the way around!!!!
