These waters are known for Gag Grouper, Red Snapper, Amberjack, Mahi, African Pompano, Sharks, and many more large species – with any luck, it won’t be long before "Fish on!" On the day of your fishing charter, you’re likely to bottom fish or troll over shipwrecks, barges, and ledges using light or heavy tackle.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Life jackets for kids and adults are provided. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!
You’ll be fishing aboard a 27’ Pair Marine custom center console with room for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, coolers, and all the essentials. Captain James Rose has rods and reels for you, along with lures and cut bait. Live bait is on offer, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for some fishing! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Captain James Rose will help you follow regulations while you fish. Some essentials to bring are sunblock, sunglasses, close-toed shoes, and food. Drinks, ice, and coolers will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Loved the trip in every way!
2 Hour Fishing (10AM) on June 24, 2025
Captain James went out of the way to make it great for our three third-sixth grade grandsons! They loved the Captain and he taught them about fishing in the process! The Dad’s had a great time too! They experienced two fishing locations in the two hour trip! We booked with a personable, knowledgeable Captain! The boat was spotless. Life vests for the kids were provided. Equipment was A+. We would definitely book with Captain James Rose again! Thank you for making the trip memorable Captain James!

BEST Captain ever!
4 Hour Fishing Trip (6:30AM) on July 14, 2024
Captain James was an excellent and compassionate Captain. We went on a 4 hour trip, including myself, my brother and 4 kiddos ranging from 10-15. 3 of the kiddos got seasick and the care he showed in trying to make them comfortable was above and beyond anything I could have expected. We caught a couple of fish that he filleted for us before we were done with the trip and made every attempt to get us to the fish. We spent a couple of great hours dropping lines and getting bites after we went trolling where we pulled in a couple of Spanish mackerel. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend him to anyone. I’ll definitely be back!

30+ Fish in 4 Hours!
4 Hour Fishing Trip (6:30AM) on September 1, 2024
Captain James had our group of 5 on the fish for the entire 4 hour nearshore trip. We started with trolling for Spanish Mackerel just of Wrightsville and were able to snag a couple keepers out of the 6 we caught. Then we headed out to bottom fish some wrecks and at least one of us always had a tight line! Great experience all around from the time of booking to when we returned to shore. Would highly recommend and will book again for sure.
