These waters are known for King Mackerel (Kingfish), Cobia, Great Barracuda, Blue Marlin, Rainbow Runner, Sailfish, Bull Shark, Hammerhead Shark, Mahi Mahi, Cero Mackerel, Gag Grouper, Black Grouper, and more – with any luck, it won't take long to hook into some. On the day of your trip, you're likely to troll using light tackle. Capt. Richard can also show you kite fishing.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
You'll be fishing aboard a 48' Viking sportfishing vessel with a capacity for 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. It's customary to tip the Mate 10–20% to show your appreciation.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so you can drive right over and come aboard without any hassle! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more. Don't leave home without bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Went offshore with my wife, our kids (8 and 9 years old), and my 74-year-old mother — and every one of us caught fish! We landed 5 Bonita, 2 Blackfin Tuna, and after an unforgettable 40-minute battle, brought a 400+ lb Goliath Grouper to the boat. Absolute catch of a lifetime. The crew made the day fun, safe, and memorable for all ages and helped create an experience our family will never forget. Sharing that moment together across three generations made it even more special. Thank you for an incredible day — highly recommend!

Had a really great day on the water with Byrd Dog charters. Caught some barracuda and tuna in the morning and capped the day off with my first goliath grouper, which we safely released. It was a great time and highly recommend anyone to fish with Capt Rich and Jeff.
Captain Rich, Dave and boat dog Ellie were knowledgeable and placed us over some of the best off-shore spots near PB. We moved around a lot and wwere always reeling and catching fish including barracuda, sharks, tuna and snapper. Great day on the water!
