An Unforgettable Boat Charter with Skipper Bryan Connell

After 16 years away from New Zealand, I had the incredible opportunity to return home and experience the Hauraki Gulf like never before. My time on the water with Skipper Bryan made it all the more special. Bryan's deep knowledge of the area and his friendly, genuine personality created a truly memorable experience for our family. This was our children's first boat trip, and thanks to Bryan's expert guidance, they had an amazing time. My son Logan even caught his biggest fish ever – a beautiful snapper – while a shark bit my snapper in half mid fight, all which made the day extra special. Bryan was fantastic with the kids, making sure everyone was involved and enjoying the experience. Total catch, 99 and 1 snapper head. Being on my home waters again after so many years was truly nostalgic, and Bryan's professionalism and enthusiasm brought it all to life in a way that I'll never forget. It is obvious he enjoys what he does, and has an incredible respect and love for the ocean and it was a pleasure fishing with him. I wholeheartedly recommend Skipper Bryan to anyone looking for an unforgettable fishing experience in the Hauraki Gulf. I'll definitely be booking again next time I'm home!

Captain Brian was extremely friendly and patient, teaching us a lot of fishing techniques. In the end, everyone caught fish that met the requirements. It was a fantastic experience, and I will definitely bring other friends to try it out next time.

Book with Captain Bryan on the Riko Riko!

Full Day Trip on February 24, 2025 • 8 adults

Vacation in NZ with 3 other couples and I wanted to book a trip. Wives were skeptical, but agreed to go. Captain Bryan is the BEST! His knowledge and patience helped greatly and the wives ranted on the ride back what a great time they had! By the way, caught LOTS of fish. Would definitely book with him again.

Our family had a wonderful trip. Captain Riko was very friendly and teach everybody very carefully. Most of our family had never tried fishing at sea, but with the captain's careful instruction, each of us caught snapper over 30cm in length. It will be an amazing trip you may want to try!
