J. Young Outdoors – Bay Boat 20'
Spend the day with Capt. Jordan and J. Young Fishing to find out what the fishing in the Traverse City area is all about!
The 19’ bay boat is perfect for casting or trolling for your desired multi-species freshwater Inland Lake fish.
There are many species to target casting/trolling/Jigging. YOU tell me what you’d like to catch and I’ll show YOU how and where.
Some of these include Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Walleye, Yellow Perch, Panfish, Brown Trout, Lake Trout and Musky if conditions allow.
On these trips we use light/heavy tackle, live bait, as well as Fly Fishing. Capt. Jordan offers Fly Fishing the inland lakes for predator fish for a fun change of pace as well as spin/bait casting with high end equipment. Capt. Jordan is an Orvis Endorsed PRO Guide and uses the best top of the line fly gear as well as St. Croix and Shimano spinning/bait casting rods and reels.
Casting and Jigging for predators or table fare are also a regular target as well as trolling.
J. Young Fishing welcomes kids aboard, and encourages it! Jordan loves getting kids out casting and retrieving with a big smile on their face. Please make sure to bring a properly fitting child’s lifejacket or request for him to bring the proper size needed for your child.
You’ll be welcome aboard a 19’ Nautic Star bay boat with space for 3 passengers. It has all the essentials. You’ll find rods and reels waiting for you, along with all tackle/lures. Live bait is available when needed. Bring your own rods if needed but they are not necessary.
Included is 30 minutes free casting lessons for fly anglers looking to sharpen up their skills or chase new species
Before coming aboard, you will need to buy a local fishing license.
Recommended are sunscreen (non-spray), appropriate clothing, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, avoid hard liquor and glass bottles. There will be some light snacks/beverages available on board.
Now, time to hit the water with Capt. Jordan!
