Species like Skipjack Tuna, Black Marlin, Sierra Mackerel, Dogtooth Tuna, Yellowfin Tuna, Blue Marlin, Sailfish, Striped Marlin, Wahoo, Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, and more inhabit these waters, depending on the time of year. On the day of your trip you’re likely to troll using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Richard also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear. For the more adventurous among you, there’s spearfishing.

Kingfisher Sportfishing is a kid-friendly charter service, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board.

Capt. Richard runs a 31’ sportfishing boat with room for 5 passengers. It has outriggers, a fighting chair, everything you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Richard has rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.

There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.

Before coming aboard, you will be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

Some essentials to bring are sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks provided on board.
