There’s a fish with your name on it in St. Bernard and Capt. Andy Jones Fly & Spin Fishing will help you catch it!
Having logged hundreds of hours on these tides, Captain Andy Jones is prepared to put you on fish. September to March are great months to fish Louisiana Reds with the biggest bulls coming into the marsh in January and February.
Whether you’re looking to throw a fly in front of a 40" Bull or spin fish points and banks, Captain Andy will guide you into the species of fish you’re pursuing. Venture into the scenic waters and flats of the most productive watershed in North America- the Mississippi River Delta. If you’re a seasoned angler or it’s your first saltwater experience, you’re sure to have a great day out on the water with Captain Andy.
These waters are known for the largest Redfish in the world, Sheepshead, Speckled Trout, and Alligator Gar. With Captain Andy, you’ll have tight lines in no time. He usually practices catch and release, unless you would like to take home something in slot for dinner in which case he would be happy to filet it for you.
Captain Andy will tailor the trip for the experience you are hoping for…no cookie-cutter trips here! Multi-day trips will explore different areas daily. You can fly fish, and use spinning and popping techniques with light tackle, bait, or a mix of all to keep it fresh and interesting. You will improve your techniques throughout the day and will leave the trip a better angler.
You will be fishing from a Maverick HPXV technical poling skiff with a 90-horse Yamaha outboard motor. This watercraft is considered one of the finest in the industry. Its carbon fiber hull makes it lightweight with minimal draft so your guide Andy can pole you in stealth mode to those tailing reds in the skinniest of water. It can comfortably accommodate 2 guests, perfect for couples or fishing with your best buddy.
You might need to get a local fishing license before the trip.
