Spend the day with Capt JT getting to know the waters around South Padre Island like never before.
Here you won’t be far from nearshore waters, including some spots that only the locals know about.
The name of the game around here is light tackle fishing, and that’s exactly what you’ll do. You may also drift and bottom fish for your catch. Capt JT will provide rods and reels, as well as lures.
These waters are known for Speckled Trout, Black Drum, Redfish, Flounder, Mangrove Snapper, Sheepshead, and more – with any luck, they’ll make your reel scream.
Any fish open to harvest that are caught during the trip are yours to keep. The captain even offers clean your catch for you so it’s ready to fry up at home. Have a cooler ready in the car! You’ll be fishing aboard a 18’ Majek bay boat that can carry up to 2 passengers.
Be sure to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group ahead of time. You can find out more online, including exceptions that may apply. Be sure to dress in layers and suitable footwear (if you aren’t sure what that means, just ask). It’s never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, and sunscreen no matter the weather.
Capt JT will have drinks for you, and if you wish to bring your own simply ask. The captain welcomes anglers of all ages on these trips, including kids. Get in touch to find out if Capt JT has child-sized life vests you can borrow, or bring your own.
And with that, you’re ready to experience the great outdoors in South Padre Island. So make it happen, with Capt JT!
