You’ll target your catch by spinning, trolling, drifting, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
If you’re traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty belly!
You’ll find yourself aboard a 27’ Cuddy cabin that holds up to 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience.
Capt. Karl will provide rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
You might need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It’s always wise to bring a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is not allowed.

Great fishing trip with Captain Karl and First Mate Leonard
6 Hour Walleye Trip (AM) on May 18, 2024
Five of us went to Lake Erie to fish with Get the Net Charters. The day started out a little rocky with heavy fog and the navigation lights decided not to work. The crew worked diligently to get the problem fixed and we were soon heading out into the fog. The fishing began and Captain Karl put us on fish very quickly. The day went well and the skies slowly cleared. We all had a great time and the crew were a lot of fun. Leonard worked incredibly hard keeping up with all the tackle and netting fish for us. All in all it was a great day and we got a limit of beautiful walleye. I highly recommend Get the Net Charters and I'm looking forward to booking future trips with them

I grew up in MI fishing all the local lakes and streams that surrounded my area. When I got a little older I decided to take up salmon fishing so I bought a boat and started chasing them around Lake Michigan. The next venture I had was catching bass. I fished the tournaments for years until I met the fish of my dreams; walley. I have been fishing walleyes for about the last 25 years. It started in Michigan and gradually worked its way to the Ohio waters where I presently port out of Rocky Point Marina in Lakeside Marblehead.
