If you’re ready to love fishing in Homer, we’ve got you covered with Homer Fishing Adventures. With Captain Zachary, you’ll benefit from years of knowledge and experience.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Halibut, Chinook Salmon, Black Rockfish, Flounder, Cod, Coho Salmon, Chum Salmon, Sockeye Salmon, Pink Salmon, and who knows what else! On the day of your trip, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
If you’re traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
Your fishing machine for the day is the Blue Fox, a 32’ Koffler cuddy cabin that holds up to 6 passengers. It comes with downriggers and all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. A 15–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect. It’s recommended to bring sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Evening 3 hr Fishing- NonHalibut
Greatest 3 hour trip ever!!!
We did a 3 hour trip with Zach and Lars. Had a family of 5 onboard with 3 kids (11, 10 and 7). Spent the first hour having fun catching rock fish before the real fun began. Zach/Lars got us on a school of fish that led to an hour of mayhem catching King Salmon and Silver Salmon. Kids had a blast as each one reeled in a salmon, we hit our limit for King Salmon and shipped home more than 30 lbs. of fish. It was the highlight of our trip to Alaska and an epic fishing experience. Zach and Lars were great with our kids too in terms of helping them with fish and answering a LOT of questions from young, enthusiastic fishermen!

Halibut/Salmon or Rockfish Combo
Great day of fishing!
The captain of the blue fox knew exactly where to go and when to go there to catch the tides perfectly for that particular fish we were after. I would highly recommend the captain and his first mate to go fishing with anytime. We caught all the fish we wanted & more and limited out and I can say listening to the chatter on the radio that not everybody was doing as great as we did on our trip. Really glad I chose to go with the blue fox charter fishing.

We had an incredible halibut fishing trip! The captain and deckhand were top-notch—knowledgeable, friendly, and worked hard the entire day. Our group had a blast and ended up limiting out on halibut and rockfish, landed cod and salmon. The whole experience was well-organized, and you could tell they really knew the waters. What a First-Class Fishing experience from beginning to end! On the way out we enjoyed a little whale watching, fish jumping and soaked in all the breathtaking beauty that is Alaska. The Captain and First Mate were “First Rate” and led us right to the perfect catching spots. This is by far the best fishing trip our family has been on. Full Day Trip – Multi Species
Great day!
We went out on a multi-species trip and had an outstanding day on the water. Zach and Lars really know what they’re doing and worked hard to get us a boat full of fish. The whole boat limited out on halibut, kings, and rockfish—plus a bunch of cod on top of that. Fun, professional, and clearly experienced. Highly recommend fishing with them if you want a productive and well-run trip.
