Spend the day with Gordon’s Generational Guide Service and find out what the fishing in Southern Oregon is all about! Having logged many hours on these rivers, Tyler (Captain Gordo) knows them forwards and back.
These waters are known for world class runs of Salmon and Steelhead– with any luck, it won't take long to hook into some.
You can expect to do some drift fishing, bobber doggin’ or something more specialized for this area.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks – luckily, Capt. Gordo will have some on board!
Tyler runs both a 17' customized Pavati fishing boat with space to accommodate up to 4 passengers comfortably; and a fully customized Willie Raptor jet boat that will accommodate groups of up to 6. The boats will be prepared ready with all the essentials.
You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as all necessary saftey equipment. Tyler will coach and teach passengers of all ages and ability. No fishing skills are required.
Before coming aboard, you will need to buy a fishing license and tags for everyone in your group. This can be completed online, or you can ask the captain for directions on purchasing in-person. Some species are protected and/or require a tag to keep them, we will help you understand what to expect.
You can't go wrong in bringing bottled water, food, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses on warm weather trips OR warm layers, boots and rain gear for inclement weather days. Bottled water will be available. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. On full day trips, there will be hot pizza or cinnamon rolls available via the on-board oven.

Amazing time on the Rouge with Captain Tyler!
We feel so lucky we were able to fish with this guide! Tyler’s equipment, boat, and service was top notch. The entire day was great from start to finish! We caught some great fish and Tyler kept us rigged and fishing the entire time! My husband caught his biggest trout ever with the best tips and guidance from Tyler. His wife even had pizza ready for us on the boat (warm) and it was so good! Every detail was thought out and he offers guest the BEST experience.

The Highlight of Our Trip
As soon as I learned about Fishin’ with Gordo, I knew my husband would want to go. I reached out to Tyler right away and reserved our spot. Tyler’s communication was excellent from day one. Because we were on a long road trip, I appreciated that. He called the day before to give us our meeting place and time. (This changes day to day depending on how the fishing is) We arrived to find Tyler waiting to take us to our launch spot. We were on the water within minutes of launching and fishing a few minutes later. Tyler’s knowledge of the river and of fishing in general was very impressive. He told us where to cast and he was spot on. We weren’t just fishing, we were catching! Even the little fish were fun to reel in. I felt bad for the other boats on the river as they watched us reel in fish. (I never did see them catch anything when they were nearby) The boat is a work of art. It’s not only sharp looking, it’s comfortable. Having Tyler put us on fish and take care of everything from setting up the poles to netting the fish and placing them in our hands for pictures was awesome. We may need a guide every time we fish from now on. 🤣 Icing on the cake was the heater. It gets cold on the water even on a warm day. And the homemade pizza!!! Who gets warm food on a float boat? Tyler’s clients! I’d highly recommend Fishin’ with Gordo! I hope we can take another trip!

Exceeded our expectations!
Captain Tyler was awesome and made our first fishing trip an incredible experience. He was so patient with my impulsive, teenage son and made him feel so confident on the boat. We live in CA, so if we go fishing near home we are afraid that Tyler raised the bar for all other guides. Can’t wait to get back to OR and get out again with Captain Tyler! We had a blast, I highly recommend booking his trip!

Tyler is a super solid pro guide!
I've always dreamt of taking my adult son big fish angling in oregon.i explained what I wanted with Tyler and he delivered exactly what we wanted.He put us on a big salmon and a nice steely.we had fun getting to know him and he was very knowledgeable about the river and the fish.if you want to go fishing us anyone.if you want to get on some big fish,call tyler.we will be regulars from now on thanks again for the great day.all this and fresh hot handcrafted pizza right on the boat
