If you're in the market for a professionally guided ice fishing experience on the beautiful Missouri River near Platte S.D. look no further than Qualm Guide Service.
The name of the game around here is ice, fish, and fun, and that's what you can expect on the day of your trip. We will be jigging, running tip-ups, and running dead sticks for your catch. You don't need to bring your own gear for this trip. but if you want to bring some of your own you are more than welcome to. Contact Otto ahead of time so you know what to expect and come prepared.
These waters are known for Walleye, and more – with any luck, they'll make your reel scream.
You're welcome to take home any fish that meet size and bag limits. Otto even offers to clean your catch for you so it's easy to cook. Have a cooler ready in the car! You're welcome to bring a group as large as 6 on this guided experience. You'll be fishing without a boat, so expect to make your way on foot at least part of the time and come dressed for current weather conditions.
If needed, Otto might provide transportation but you can otherwise expect to meet at the fishing grounds. Get in touch to find out more before the day – you can even send a quick message below.
Everyone in your group should buy a local fishing license ahead of time. You can find out more online, including exceptions that may apply. Layered clothing and appropriate footwear are always encouraged (if you aren't sure what that means, just ask). It's never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, sunblock, and bottled water, rain or shine.
Ready to have the whole family unplug? Then you'll be glad to know that kids are more than welcome. Remember to ask if child-sized life vests are available; otherwise, you'll have to bring your own.
And with that, you're ready to experience the great outdoors in the Academy. So make it happen, with Qualm Guide Service!

Otto grew up 3 miles from the river and spent every minute he could on the water and ice. Over the years he found out he finds more joy in helping others catch a fish or learning how to fish in a new way than he ever has from catching one.
