Trips are generally run with the help of a First Mate/ Second Captain. It's customary to tip the Mate/ Second Captain. Spend the day with Mo Grouper and find out what the fishing in Panama City Beach is all about! Captain Ron and Captain Gidget will be your guides, bringing aboard years of local experience.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Red Snapper, Gag Grouper, Gray Triggerfish, Vermilion Snapper, Mahi Mahi, Amberjack, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Spanish Mackerel, and anything else that bites. During the trip, you might be trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are also a good idea so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
Your day begins aboard a 26' Sea Hunt center console that can carry up to 6 anglers. It has all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels. Live bait is available, Don't forget to tip the Captain 10–20% to show your appreciation.
There's no need to buy a fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more. It's always wise to bring bottled water, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. No glass bottles.
While not required, be assured all safety precautions are followed. The Mo Grouper voluntarily requests the United States Coast Guard to complete a vessel safety check. Rest assured the Mo Grouper has passed the inspection and gone above and beyond on safety precautions.

The captain was extremely knowledgeable and safty came first, he made sure we caught fish and we had the most amazing time. His wife was also very knowledgeable and extremely sweet. We will absolutely be visiting them again SOON!!! Hands down the best fishing trip we have ever been on!!! If you’re looking for a great place look no further!

5 hour trip on June 29, 2026 • 3 adultsWe had an absolutely outstanding time with Captain Ron and Mo Grouper. He has an great boat, top gear, and knows how to find and catch fish, or as he says... "It's your job to catch them and get them in the boat!". I can't imagine a more honest and down to earth captain to go with. We caught snapper, king mackerel, some cobia (not big enough to keep) and more. The next time I'm in PCB and want to fish, I will absolutely go with Mo Grouper again. Gidget also do a wonderful job of cleaning our catch when we returned. So happy we found this boat and captains for our trip.

He was knowledgeable, kind, and very accommodating. Even when a few of us felt a little sea sick, Capt. Ron gave great advice to help us through it. He was very prepared, on time, on the mark for the fishing spots & gave everyone a fair chance for the big catch. If you’re looking for down to earth folks who make you feel like you’re at home, he’s the guy to go with!!

Fish ON! on August 7, 2025 • 4 adults • 1 childThe headline says it all captain Ron and crew were amazing. Very friendly and helpful from start to finish. Boat was extremely clean and comfortable even in a few rough waves. Never stopped catching fish from start to finish and ended the trip with an awesome 40min battle with something huge we unfortunately never got to see but captain Ron did an amazing job with the boat to try and land that fish!!! Can not say thank you enough to the Mo Grouper boat and crew. And would recommend to anyone from family's which we were to the serious fisherman.

From castoff to fish cleaning, Captain Ron was Great! Knowledgeable, professional and very personable. Clean boat, good equipment, and really helped my wife with the rod and reel. She was so excited catching fish she couldn’t stop smiling the whole time. We are already talking about going out again with Captain Ron.
