If you're traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Child-sized life vests are available, but you are welcome to bring your own.
The fishing machine is a 25' Parker Sport Cabin pilothouse with a capacity for 4 anglers equipped for Cobia, Spanish mackerel, bluefish, redfish, (puppy drum) speckled trout, and rockfish in the Chesapeake Bay and it's tributaries. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures and live bait.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 20% tip is customary.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish. Don't leave home without sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and a hat. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Captain Bull and Mike were very nice and worked hard to get on fish for our 11 & 12 year old boys. The conditions were rainy and breezy, but captain was game to keep pushing as long as we were. The new boat also provided comfortable shelter for Mom to nap. When fishing was slow for the rockfish we were hoping for, Captain Bull setup some bottom rigs to real in black sea bass and some frog fish one after another. Good times on the Chesapeake!
Cpt. Bull & Tyler were fantastic! We went into the trip with an open mind and no expectations as many of us hadn’t been fishing before or in a long time. Cpt Bull & Tyler helped trained us up and let us have fun. They took us to many spots where we got to troll fish, cast and reel, chum fishing, and even live bait fishing! Cpt Bull even took us to his favorite Cobia spot where we caught one before we could finish setting out all the lines! They were respectful and humane to the fish. Got a good haul of filets to take home, price point of the trip was good, perfect weather on the water, and some fantastic memories! 5/5 Stars, even more if I could, now we are even planning on making it a yearly thing. Thank you Cpt Bull!
Our very experienced local captain put us on fish from the get go. I wanted a different species initially and he was honest that they were no longer actively biting. He switched between methods, gear and location which treated us to an outstanding experience. My advice, lean into his knowledge unless you are willing to come up empty handed. He was great about how things worked and without a first mate handled all the baiting and bringing fish on board. Busy guy made it look easy! Thanks Capt Dan. Can't wait to go again. Also loved having the whole boat just to our group, no strangers or shenanigans.
Captain Bull is so enthusiastic and friendly. And so skilled! We had our five year old who got blue fish and spanish Mackerel. 10 total in a little over 2 hours. It was his very first fishing experience and he did not realize the help he got. Incidentally the trip was supposed to be for 2 hours, but we noticed afterwards that Captain Bull kept us longer in his desire to make everyone happy and please the kids. We did catch and release. It was also most interesting to learn about the Bay and know where we were. We can't wait to do it again. Definitely the highlight of everyone's trip to the Northern Neck!
We had an awesome day with Tip Sea Charter! Captain Bull was great—super knowledgeable, easy to talk to, and worked hard to put us on fish all day. He made the trip fun while teaching us about the area and fishing along the way. Charley was outstanding with my boys. He took the time to answer their questions and showed them how to fillet the fish we caught. They loved it, and it’s something they’ll remember for a long time. It’s not every day you find a crew that takes that extra time with kids. If you’re looking for a fun, family-friendly fishing trip with people who genuinely care about making your day special, I highly recommend Tip Sea Charter. We had a great time, caught plenty of fish, and made memories that will last a lifetime. We can’t wait to come back!
