Get to know Alpine fishing like never before when you book a trip through Outdoor Salzburg.

The centrally located European country with an impressive Alps Mountain range covering approximately 65% of its territory remained undiscovered for many anglers from abroad. Well known as a high-class skiing destination worldwide, this fascinating alpine country hides some of the best fishing locations in Europe and beyond, when it comes to record-size Grayling and Trout, we can talk about one of the top-positioned fisheries in the European mainland.

Due to many years of preservation and a high level of ecological awareness of the local population as well as catch & release practices, Austrian rivers are ready to welcome anglers looking to enjoy alpine nature, food, and fishery.

We have a multitude of alpine rivers, lakes, and streams that can be accessed at different times of the year. Rivers of various sizes in the surrounding of Salzburg city are open for fishing 8-10 months in year. We are targeting Trout as well as record-size European Graylings
We can offer endless possibilities to change the area and look for the river that suits the angler´s needs and wishes.
We offer fishing on Goiserer Traun, Ischler Traun, Rettenbach, and Weissenbach which are our first choice.
Traun River is very approachable without long walks and demanding mountain hiking, and fishing at spots where wading is not needed.

Dry fly casting together with different techniques of nymphing can be effective everywhere you go, it highly depends on the time of the year and current water level which technique you are going to use and what species to target. Our guests fish at rivers which are very close to each other but at the same time they all have different characters. Because of that, it´s necessary to have gear that will fit every situation on water.
All equipment from the boots to the trucker cap, can be rented for one or multiple days.

Our guide was extemely knowledgable of the river and the fish we were targeting, helped get is to the good spots quickly and have the best chances at a catch. he was also very patient when our distance casting skills weren’t quite up to the task. haha.
