First Coast Surf Fishing is the ultimate land-based guiding service in Fernandina Beach. They primarily focus on surf fishing for anything that swims along the East Coast of Florida from Pompano and Whiting to Bull Reds, Sharks, and Tarpon.
Some of the species you can catch around here include Black Drum, Bluefish, Flounder, Whiting, Jack Crevalle, Pompano, Redfish, Blacktip Shark, Bull Shark, Hammerhead Shark, Lemon Shark, Tiger Shark, Stingray, Spanish Mackerel and more, depending on conditions. The best part is you never know what you’ll catch. For these species, you’re likely to use Spinning and Conventional gear with light or heavy tackle designed to reel in the target species. Contact FCSF and determine which species of fish you would like to target, and we will set you up for success!
Head Guide Owen welcomes children, friends, and family of all ages! There is no limit when fishing from the beach, so bring as many people as you want to cut down on the price! FCSF will provide rods and reels, bait, water, zero gravity chairs, canopies, cornhole, music, and a great personable attitude to stay occupied while waiting for a bite!
You must have a Florida Shark Fishing Permit if you wish to target Sharks from the sand and a Florida saltwater fishing license. This information is available online but contact Owen and he will send you the links you need! Here at FCSF, we tag and release sharks through the NOAA Cooperative Tagging Program. If you wish to target sharks you will have the opportunity to tag your own and track its migration through potential recapture wherever the fish may go.
A few items to bring include sunscreen, towels, food, and sunglasses. Cooler full of ice and water included on certain trips.
Turn your family beach day into an extreme saltwater fishing adventure right where you swim. Book a trip with First Coast Surf Fishing and it will change your outlook on land-based fishing forever.

I grew up playing sports and eventually found myself playing baseball at The University of Tampa. I fished every so often but picked it up and ran with it in my free time learning the ropes by fishing in Tampa Bay. I recently moved back home to Jacksonville because I discovered it is by far one of the best surf fisheries in all of Florida. I decided I was going to start First Coast Surf Fishing and run guided trips to share my love for the sport. My land-based fishing resume speaks for itself, and I have obtained a lot of knowledge over the last few years regarding both surf and shark fishing. Booking a trip will not only allow you a chance at these targeted species, but I will share the knowledge that I have learned so that you may take it with you and apply it to your own fishing adventures.
