If you’re ready to go fishing in New Orleans, look no further than Captain Frenchy. With Captain Hubert at the helm, you’ll have a knowledgeable and experienced guide.
These waters are known for Redfish, Black Drum, Tripletail, Flounder, Tarpon, Smallmouth Bass, Sheepshead, Striped Bass, Speckled Trout, and more – with any luck, you’ll hook into a few! On these trips, it’s common to spin or even cast a popping cork using light tackle. Capt. Hubert also offers fly fishing.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are also a good idea for a boost of energy when needed!
Your trip begins aboard a 19’ Brackish Boats center console with a capacity for 3 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
Before coming aboard, you will need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off-limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
You can’t go wrong when you bring sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray), Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks included on board.

Fantastic Captain
One of the best guides I have had! When we spoke the day prior to trip he was very honest about the difficult weather conditions/wind and offered to cancel the trip. We elected to go and we are glad we did. Captain Frenchy put us on the fish despite the fact that the conditions were windy and quite choppy. We caught reddish, trout, sheepshead (3 large ones) and missed a bunch of bites (the anglers fault for sure). Captain Frenchy was a great guide / teacher and on top of it all super friendly and interesting with a ton of knowledge. Will definitely book again on our next trip to New Orleans!

AHH MY GAWD! Captain Frenchy knows how to fish!
We had so much fun with Captain Frenchy and learned so much! Conditions were not great and boats around us struggled to even hook up with catfish. Captain put us on fish and had the techniques to allowed us to hook up constantly. We caught almost our limit for two people in trout, 4 drum, and even 2 sheep's head. It was an epic day of fishing and you won't be disappointed if you book with him. He knows the best spots, water quality, temps, wind direction, and even atmospheric pressure to put you on fish. Thank you so much captain, look forward to coming back down!

Awesome time bull red in off season
awesome time very quality fishing which to me is better then a bunch of small ones. You really know your waters and fish. Was a bad weather day with change in pressure to very high, high heat and also a bad west wind. However, we searched and found quality fish (18 # bull red very unusual for June, a large trout. Even managed at end for the LA grand slam with a red, trout, flounder and a decent size bass. He kept me hydrated with water did all the baiting and releasing of the fish. We did keep the deep hooked trout. This was a life long dream to fish in NOLA and Frenchie fulfilled my dream beyond expectations. Thanks again

Amazing Trip
It was a pleasure to spend the day with Captain Frenchy. While other boats were racing around trying to find fish, Captain Frenchy was setting me up and helping me Reds, Speckled Trout, and the largest Sheepshead I could imagine catching. His knowledge of the area and passion for fishing made for an exciting day. His boat and equipment were top notch and he went to all efforts to ensure I caught a variety of fish when no other boats could. Will definitely come back and book Captain Frenchy again!
