Excited to go fishing in Quepos? That's what Quepos Fishing is here for!
Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Snook, Snapper, Great Barracuda, Black Marlin- Blue Marlin- Striped Marlin, Sailfish, Roosterfish, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, and plenty more. Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself spinning, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Sandy also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Also, remember to bring snacks so that everyone stays happy and energized!
You'll be dropping lines from the Sea Lion I, a 27' Eduardoño sportfishing boat that can carry up to 5 passengers. It has outriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
You might need to buy a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks available on board.
Now's the time to experience fishing in Quepos for yourself, with Quepos Fishing!
