Ketchikan offers massive variety! You might hook into Halibut, King Salmon, Coho Salmon, Chum Salmon, Pink Salmon, Lingcod, Rockfish, Crab, Flounder, Cod, and plenty more.
Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself light tackle fishing, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Life jackets are provided and bringing the youth fishing is highly encouraged!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 25’ Raider coastal, a fully welded aluminum fishing machine with space for 6 passengers. It comes with downriggers, GPS, sonar, a kicker motor, a fully enclosed cabin, spacious seating, and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with all lures, bait, etc.
Before coming aboard, it will be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information will be emailed to you at the completion of your booking.
You can’t go wrong when you bring sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Waters are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be light snacks available on board.

Fishing with Captain Aaron was the highlight of our Alaskan vacation! I was pleasantly surprised by how quickly he reached out to me after making the booking to confirm our details. All communication before and afterwards was quick and easy. Meeting up was a breeze. His boat is stellar and so well kept. We started reeling in fish almost immediately. I was impressed with how well he helped and encouraged our 10 and 14 yr old kids (as well as the adults)! We caught our limit of Halibut and 14 cod - it was amazing! We chose to ship home our catch, and he made the process effortless. Captain Aaron is obviously a pro at his craft and made it enjoyable for the whole family!

Captain Aaron did not disappoint. Very nice and well maintained boat. Very nice equipment (rods reels tackle) very knowledgeable and experienced. Aaron was very personable and made us feel very welcome and right at home. We loaded the boat with multiple species of fish! We laughed, we had an absolute incredible view the whole time. 10/10 would definitely go with Captain Aaron again.

ANOTHER successful fishing excursion with Capt. Aaron. This was the third trip I have taken with Ketchikan Fishing Expeditions and again he exceeded my expectations. Fished three days and hit all our marks with halibut, salmon, rockfish and crab. Make no mistake, our catch was not luck. Capt. Aaron knows these waters, where to find the fish and the best setup to catch the fish!! And for the bonus, humpbacks, orcas and so much sea life activity all around, Ketchikan is beautiful! Can’t wait to get back next season!
