Excited to cast a line in Playa Del Carmen? Look no further than Caribeño Boat! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Joshua Fabian can tell you all about the local fishery.
These waters hold game fish like Yellowtail Amberjack, Blackfin Tuna, Tarpon, Cubera Snapper, Sailfish, Wahoo, Mahi Mahi, Blue Marlin, Jack Crevalle, White Marlin, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Red Snapper, Goliath Grouper, Bluefin Tuna, Great Barracuda, and more, depending on when you go. For these species, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish.
You’ll be fishing aboard a 25’ Imemsa sportfishing boat that holds up to 4 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Capt. Joshua Fabian will provide rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, a hat, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks provided on board.
