Wilmington has a fish with your name on it, so let Sea Bear Charters help you catch it!

Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Bonito, Spanish Mackerel, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Flounder, Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Scamp Grouper, and whatever else is biting. During the trip, you might be spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Robert can also help you try kite fishing. For the more adventurous among you, there's spearfishing.

Trips with Sea Bear Charters are great for kids, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks to keep their stamina going!

You'll step aboard a 25' Luhrs sportfishing vessel with a capacity for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.

You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip, but after June 30th the blackout license has you covered. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

You can't go wrong when you bring sunscreen (non-spray), bottled water, and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Your trip with Sea Bear Charters is just a click away, so why not make it happen?

Unforgettable Fishing Adventure with Captain Robert Connelly!
Half Day Trip (AM) on May 17, 20254 adults

If you're looking for an unforgettable fishing experience in Wilmington, look no further than a charter with Captain Robert Connelly. From the moment we stepped on the boat, Captain Robert's professionalism, knowledge, and passion for fishing were evident. He made us feel welcome, safe, and excited for the adventure ahead. The trip itself was nothing short of incredible—we caught several sharks and some seriously big fish that gave us a run for our money. Captain Robert knew exactly where to take us, read the water like a pro, and made sure everyone was involved and having a great time. His boat was well-maintained, equipped with quality gear, and perfect for both seasoned anglers and beginners. Not only did we leave with an impressive haul, but we also left with great memories, lots of laughs, and a deeper appreciation for the ocean. I highly recommend booking a trip with Captain Connelly—you won’t be disappointed! 5 stars all the way. We’ll definitely be back for another round!

We had such a great time with Captain Robert today!! He was very knowledgeable about the fish we were catching, how to catch and made the experience so much more enjoyable by involving everyone on board. We caught several fish each!! He cleaned our fish and even helped us find a place to get it cooked for us. Captain Robert was fantastic and we’ll be back for more fishing fun soon!

Half day trip with captain rob
Half Day Trip (AM) on July 25, 2025

Captain Rob truly saved our trip by taking a chance and heading out when others thought we were out of time. Everything was perfectly prepared—he had all the bait ready to go and clearly knew the area inside and out. On top of that, he was incredibly personable and made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. It turned into an unforgettable trip and a memory we’ll always cherish.
