Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Perch, Walleye, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Smallmouth Bass, Lake Trout, and whatever else takes the bait. On these trips, it’s common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Young ones are welcome, so get ‘em offline and onto the water! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Don’t forget to bring snacks so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty stomach!
Capt. Matthew will bring you aboard a 26’ Crevalle center console with a capacity for 6 passengers. It has downriggers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
Before coming aboard, it will be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
You can’t go wrong when you bring sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. If you’d like to bring other drinks, feel free.

We caught fish from the time we put our rods in the water until we had to ask to stop early..we had caught so many fish of various sizes ( big) and kinds that we really were tired from pulling them in. Our Captain was quite experienced with fishing and knew what he was doing! I have never been on a fishing boat with so many fishing rods out to catch fish, and I have been on MANY fishing expeditions in my long life. I would definately recommend him as a guide, and when we return to this area again, I would book him again! HE IS THAT GOOD.

We took our son out for his birthday. This was our first time and it was great! He really wanted to catch some walleye and Captain Matthew made it happen. It was the perfect set up and Captain Matthew knew all the best places to ensure we caught everything we wanted (and much much more)! We had a blast and we will definitely be booking with Captain Mathew again in the future!

Matt was great, really down to earth and knowledgeable 👍🏽 Even though the weather men lied and we had an awful fight with the waves. Matt did everything he could to put a few in the boat! If you go make sure you bring a tip! It will be worth it!
