Make some memories in Saco, ME and go fishing with Maine Offshore Adventures. With Captain Howard at the helm, you’re in knowledgeable and experienced hands. Do you have a large group? We can take up to 6 passengers out fishing!
These waters are known for Bluefin Tuna, Haddock, Cod, Pollock, Atlantic Mackerel, Striped Bass, Porbeagle Shark, and more – with any luck, it won’t take long to hook into some. On these trips, it’s common to troll, drift, jig, cast, and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, we have infant and youth life jackets on board. Customers are encouraged to bring food, beverages, and snacks to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!
Your boat for the day is a 30’ Sailfish Express sportfishing vessel that can carry up to 6 passengers. It has an Eisenglass-enclosed cabin for protection from wind, rain, and sun, and a private head. Rods, reels, bait, and tackle are covered by the charter. Frozen bait is on board and you’ll be catching live bait yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for a good time! Keep in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
You should plan to wear boat shoes with non-marking soles and bring sunglasses, a hat, a light jacket, and sunblock (non-spray). There will be some light snacks and drinks onboard. There is a large cooler onboard with plenty of ice to keep your food and beverages cold. Alcohol is not allowed.

2-hr Trip - 5PM Macks, Lobster Tour
Great Family Fun!
Our family had a blast on our two hour trip with Captain Howard and Captain Tim! Our kids our 11, 9, and 6 and this was their first time out on a boat to fish. During the first hour they all caught at least 7 fish. Our little girl loved that she got to use a Barbie pole. During the second hour we got to watch and learn as the captains checked their lobster traps. The kids loved being able to hold the lobsters after they came out of the traps and had bands on their claws. We would definitely book another trip with Captain Howard and Captain Tim.

Great Fishing Experience
The captain made sure we all had a good time and answered any questions we had. He explained how to cook the lobsters we were able to keep. He did a great job showing us the notched lobsters before he threw them back, and we even saw a lobster carrying eggs. He taught us how to be helpful in bringing up the lobster traps, and how to fish efficiently.

Special 3 hour trip for Paul Baird - Mackerel, Lobster, Striper
Fun and Relaxing Trip
It began with us having to reschedule due to car problems, however, Howard was very accommodating and booked us for a trip the following day. Both Howard and Tim were helpful and patient and answered our many questions. It was like being on board with friends. This will be a memory worth keeping.

What a Lovely Afternoon
The three of us are visiting from Brooklyn and decided on a whim to take a fishing trip. The afternoon option was perfect for us and Saco was easy to get to. Captain Howard was a great communicator before the trip and even suggested we start a bit early, so we weren't fishing in the dark. When we arrived Captain Howard and Tim were friendly, personable, and knowledgeable. The fishing started nearly right away and was all set up for us. We even got to experience lobster fishing, from pulling out the cages to learning which lobsters we could keep and which to throw back. Besides the bucket full of lobsters, we were able to catch, we caught some mackerel and tried to use them to get some stripers. We experienced a beautiful sunset and got the privilege of seeing a bunch of porpoises as we fished. It was a perfect afternoon, and I would highly recommend Captain Howard and Tim for your next fishing adventure-- if I could give them 6 stars I would!

Best Trip!
We had so much fun catching mackerel and pulling traps. We had two kids with us, 12 and 13 and they had a blast! It was a perfect night to be out on the water and the captains explained everything to us and gave us a great time. We will definitely do it again.
