Spend the day with Reel Steel Charters and get hooked on fishing in Panama City!
Species like Amberjack, Black Drum, Bonito, Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Gag Grouper, Red Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Mangrove Snapper, Red Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, Gray Triggerfish, and more could be biting, depending on the time of year. During the trip you might be light tackle fishing, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Reel Steel Charters welcomes kids aboard, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. You’re welcome to bring snacks to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!
You’ll be casting lines from a 28’ Parker pilothouse with a capacity for 6 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Your captain will provide rods and reels. Live bait is available, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
You’ll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
There’s no need to buy a fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
Some essentials to bring are bottled water, sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Our son loves fishing so we booked a trip with Jason and Reel Steel for our sons 14th birthday! Upon arrival Jason and his crew were extremely professional and courteous, this was basically our first time fishing deep salt water and Jason was absolutely amazing with showing our son and us how. We caught several nice fish, some in season and some out we had to throw back. I will absolutely be going back and doing it again Jason and Reel steel!

WOW!
We booked a trip with Captain Jason as a surprise birthday gift for our son, uncle, and nephew — and they came home absolutely raving about the experience! From the moment they stepped on board, they felt welcomed and well taken care of. Great time!
Had a great time. Took four kids. Jason and Jennifer took care of everything. They helped with baiting the lines and removing the fish. We caught a lot of fish. Unfortunately, some fish were just a bit too small to keep, or were big enough, but were out of season. As an added bonus, we saw a sea turtle. I would definitely recommend them.

Great Time!
Jason and Jennifer were both a pleasure. Kept up great with all 6 of us fishing and kept us on the fish the entire charter. We left with quite a bit of keepers to take home and enjoy. We also had a dolphin following the boat which was fun to see as well. Couldn’t recommend them enough. We will be booking again with them next year!
