Saltwater Experience Charters
Located in Rockport, Texas, Saltwater Experience Charters offers you an adventure on the beautiful Gulf Coast of Texas. Captain Paul Baucum is a friendly and skilled angler who will take you to the Inshore Bay system, flats, and backwaters in pursuit of the species of your choice.
You will be using popping cork, bottom, and drift fishing as conditions provide. Species targeted are Spotted Trout, Redfish, Black Drum, and Flounder.
You will be taking this adventure on a 25’ Dargel Kat powered by an Evinrude E-Tec 300 motor. Runs out at 48 knots, So it will get you to that fishing spot quickly so you can start fishing. It has a wireless trolling motor so you will ease in and not scare away the fish. Onboard are 2 live bait wells for plenty of bait and lures are available for the angler that prefers them. Also 2 ice chests - 1 for your drinks and 1 for your catch.
This Charter is family friendly and your children are always welcome to share their experience on the water with you. (Just make sure you bring the required flotation devices for the little ones). Also, corporate and tournament trips are available.
All poles, reels, live bait, lures, and water are furnished. All you need is a Salt Water fishing license, snacks, and drinks if wanted and don’t forget the sunscreen lotion. No glass Please!

6 Hour Trip on October 11, 2024
When from the south of the great state of Texas, something that is known to all anglers is, fishing the the inner coastal bay waters of the Texas Gulf Coast can be a shallow experience, no point intended. To have an Epic day on the water limiting-out on nice Reds and catching more than a few decent Black Drums requires having personal knowing experience or having professional experience with. Having Captain Paul Baucum with Saltwater Experience Charters was a blessing. After we got underway and a short 15 minute boat ride, Captain Paul put us on fish where it was on for the Epic day. Thanks Captain for a very Memorial Birthaday weekend.

6 Hour Trip on September 18, 2024
You will first notice the beautiful boat before you even get in it. It outshines the rest. Captain Paul meets you with a firm handshake and a smile. He took us to all of his fishing spots. And if you're not catching anything he doesn't waste time, he will move on to his next fishing spot. On the day we went the fish weren't really biting, but we still caught a couple of keepers. Not to mention the two crabs and sting ray I caught, lol. He had plenty of live bait, and ice cold water for the taking. Captain Paul does his best to make sure you don't go home empty handed. The only issue I had is that it was too hot. But of course he can't do anything about that, lol.

A hard fishing day, but had a blast

The fishing was tough on the day we went out, only wound up with a keeper red, keeper black and a diminutive sand trout, but the wonderful experience of being out on the bay in a fantastic boat with a very personable and knowledgeable captain was a blast. I hope the fish cooperate on the next trip, and there will be a next trip for sure! Thanks Captain Paul!
