Hooked Up Sportfishing charters is owned and operated by Captain Chuck Wigzell, who has spent the last 30 years helping guests explore these plentiful waters. Now his son Captain Zac Wigzell is also running the family boat. Whether you want to take home some tasty fish for dinner, or battle a trophy Blue Marlin, he’ll customize your Kona trip so that it perfectly meets your needs and expectations. Your captain also specializes in introducing young anglers to these waters, so bring along the whole family!
You’ll be fishing from a 40′ Uniflite vessel that is spacious and extremely comfortable. She can accommodate up to 6 guests. Onboard, you’ll find a variety of top-notch rods, reels, and tackle that make fishing these waters easy and fun for anglers of all ages and abilities. She’s also decked out with top-of-the-line navigational and safety gear, as well as large side rails around the cockpit, and a shaded area to relax in. Get ready to travel in comfort and style!
You’ll be fishing for Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Spearfish, Mahi Mahi, Ono and Tuna year round plus some of the other pelagic fish that frequent these waters.
When you’re back on land, your crew will fillet your catch for free, and you can have it cooked at their family-owned restaurant. Whether you want to catch a trophy-sized Blue Marlin, or have an exciting and productive family day out on the water, Hooked Up Sportfishing can’t wait to welcome you onboard!

Short nose billfish

Captain Zack and his First Mate Cameron were awesome. Very engaging and thorough in explaining everything, especially what to expect game fishing. Landed a short nose billfish, aka, spearfish. They even made a great recommendation where to have a local restaurant serve some of it up for us. Highly recommend and will book with them again.

Great AM 1/2 Day Trip
Half Day Big Game Trip (AM) on July 15, 2024
Zac and Blake were great and welcoming. Always a plus to catch a fish on one of these outings and it being my son’s first real catch made it all that much sweeter! We caught an Ono and had it filleted on the boat and are having it prepared at our hotel tonight! Thanks for the good time!

Half day trip, full of action!
Half Day Big Game Trip (PM) on June 12, 2024
We went out for a half day and hooked our first marlin right away. Got it reeled in, let it off then hooked another within a few minutes. We ended up hooking 4 or 5 but only got one in. Overall experience 10/10! Crew was super helpful and knowledgeable and we will definitely be back!

3/4 Day Big Game Trip (Mid-Morning) on July 9, 2024
Had an amazing trip off Kona today with HookedUp’s Zac and Blake. Matt got to battle and bring in a 350+lb blue marlin…AMAZING experience to be a part of. The boat and crew were great, can’t wait to go again! 🤙 Mahalo ❤️

Brought the whole family (wife, 4 teenage boys and myself). We only caught 2 fish 😐 but the crew did everything they could to ensure we could watch what we could. Great overall trip. Highly recommend them!
