Looking to cast a line in Lanier? Horton’s Fishing Adventures is your ticket! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Josh can tell you all about them.
Spotted Bass, Striped Bass, White Bass, Black Bream, and more inhabit these waters, depending on conditions. On the day of your trip, you’re likely to use light or heavy tackle.
Families making of a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Feel free to bring your own snacks to keep up those energy levels!
You’ll be welcome aboard either a 21’ Ranger 520 vx bass boat with a 225 HP motor & room for 3 passengers. It has a all the essentials no fishing machine can run without! Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, along with lures.
You might need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It’s never a bad idea to bring a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). Lunch is provided, just reach out to learn more, especially if you have any dietary needs.

Great Trip with Captain Josh
Captain Josh was very polite, patient and sociable. He was willing to assist first people who were fishing for the first time. He was extremely knowledgeable about the lake and where to go to catch fish. We enjoyed the boat ride and highly recommend Captain Josh and would use him again.

Great day of catching large fish including a giant Largemouth!
Josh had the equipment and knowledge to put us on the fish today.The highlights were a good sized Striper and a giant Largemouth! Josh is a great guy and makes sure you have what you need to have a memorable trip!

Half Day Trip – Lanier Special (PM)
What a nice time, great adventure
One of those days that even without catching any fish the afternoon was a blast, hanging out with my youngest son and just enjoying the experience. Big shoutout to the Captain, what a nice guy, super kind and always willing to provide a good service for us, all in all amazing. I am planning on coming back very soon! Thanks Captain.

Even a bad day of fishing can be good
Josh and the boat was great for me and my two sons. He was very knowledgeable and helpful. We struck out with some bad weather and bad luck on the fish biting, but at least we each caught one. Would highly recommend Josh for others looking to get some fishing time in and learn some too.

So Much Fun!
My 12-year-old and I booked a half day trip with Mr. Robert and Josh and had a blast! My son caught 3 bass within the first hour! It was really cool to spend that time with him and in the company of such great guides. We’ll definitely book another charter again!
