There’s a fish with your name on it in Galveston and Mad Charters will help you catch it! Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Mando can tell you all about them.
These waters are known for Speckled Trout, Redfish, Blacktip Shark, Flounder, and more – with any luck, they’ll make your reel scream. During the trip you might be light tackle fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Trips with Mad Charters are great for kids, so feel free to make a family day out of it! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
Your trip begins aboard a 24’ Sea Hunt center console that can carry up to 6 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
You will need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
Don’t leave home without sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
The click of a button is the only thing keeping you from a great day on the water with Mad Charters!
