Spend the day with Get Out Northwest and get hooked on fishing in Garibaldi! With Captain Shawn at the helm, you’ll have a knowledgeable and experienced guide.
These waters are home to Black Rockfish, Rockfish, Halibut, Crab, Coho Salmon, Chinook Salmon, Lingcod, Black Seabass, and more with any luck. Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself light tackle fishing, trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
You’ll find yourself aboard a 23’ Alumaweld aluminum fishing boat with capacity for 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. You’ll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you’ll be catching it yourself.
Before coming aboard, you will be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, a hat, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Now, time to hit the water with Get Out Northwest!

Captain Shawn Grisham operates his 2003 Alumaweld Super Vee. His dad taught him to fish at a young age and the captain has been hooked on fishing ever since. Through his years of fishing, he has never stopped learning new techniques, adapting to new gear, finding hot fishing spots, and more. Captain Shawn's lifelong love for the outdoors is where his dream of becoming a fishing guide began. The look on a little kid's face or a first-timer getting their first Salmon or Sturgeon is priceless – that’s his passion and motivation, to give each person the opportunity to fall in love with fishing. The captain leads guided fishing excursions on the Willamette River, Columbia River, Tillamook Bay, and ocean excursions out of Tillamook Bay dependent on weather and fishing conditions. The current options for guided fishing trips include Salmon, Sturgeon, and Steelhead (when open) trips. Ocean Salmon trips can include the additional feature of dropping buckets for Crab (Salmon and Crab Combo Deal).
