If you plan on fishing in New Port Richey, look no further than Near Shore Excursions. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Samuel can tell you all about them.

Depending on conditions, you might hook into Speckled Trout, Redfish, Snook, and who knows what else! On the day of your trip you're likely to troll using light tackle.

Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Snacks are permitted onboard — bring your favorites to keep their stamina going!

Fishing With Captain Mosely
4 Hour Trip (AM) on March 22, 2024

My wife and I took a trip to Florida last March. I wanted to fish so bad. As an avid angler, I needed to get on the water and try some new fishing experiences. I remembered that a friend, Samuel, guided in Florida. I hit him up and he squeezed us in! Although the weather didn’t cooperate, we had a blast! Saw dolphins, which my wife loved. The fishing wasn’t great, but that is how fishing goes. Even with the fish not biting, Captain Mosely managed to get us on some sheep’s head and filleted em up for us. If you are looking for a personal and fun experience on the water, hit up Captain Mosely. He and his boat mate, Mojo (the dog) are great guides and created an amazing and unforgettable experience. Highly recommend!

Jake, was great having ya’ll on the boat. That was a wet, cold, windy day with a slow bite, but we managed a few and had a good time together. Look forward to seeing you in April. Best to the fam & tight lines!

Fishing with Samuel
4 Hour Trip (AM) on September 4, 2024

Captain Samuel Moseley made this trip unforgettable. His knowledge of the water, fishing techniques, and local hot spots is unmatched. The boat was in top shape, but what really made the experience stand out was Samuel himself. He’s not just a great captain, but a great person. Friendly, patient, and passionate about what he does, he made sure every moment was enjoyable. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or just out for a good time, you couldn’t ask for a better guide. Looking forward to the next trip with him!

I started fishing in Ochlockonee Bay, Florida in a serious way around 2004. I fished from Alligator Point, Fl and east all the way to the Aucilla River learning and exploring the vast rivers, creeks and tributaries that empty in to the Gulf. Relocated to Ponte Vedra Beach, Fl and fishing avidly from north of the St. John's River all the way south to St. Augustine, Fl. fishing creeks, oyster bars, flats etc. This is where I really fell in love with shallow water sight fishing in salt water. I raised a family (2 young men now) and worked in the corporate world (customer service and sales in Senior Living) until 2023 when I decided to resign my corporate position and get my Captains license. I love being on the water, in nature, fishing, exploring and taking in the beauty that surrounds. I have great respect for the maritime industry and am honored to be able to do this as an occupation.
