Around here the fishing is popular for Striped Bass, Bluefish, Catfish, Cobia, White Perch, Rockfish, Spanish Mackerel, Whiting, and more with any luck. During the trip you might be spinning, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Capt. Thomas Loch runs a 42' Gene Travis Custom bay boat with capacity for 6 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods and reels are supplied for you as well as bait and lures.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. A 20% Mate Fee is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
It's always wise to bring bottled water, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Capt knew where to take us to make sure we got our moneys worth. We did the four hour bottom fishing trip and came home with enough for dinner for a week. Capt and first mate are great to chat with, made us feel comfortable and helped us out the entire time. Six stars of if I could. We will definitely be returning and hope to get out on the bay. Bottom fishing was hot and our family caught a ton (30-40) of spot and croaker. Capt knew all the hot spots on the river. We then made it to a few spots to try for rockfish. Both our sons reeled in big dogs and we lost a few but that’s fishing! Thanks for a memorable day in Solomon’s island and a delicious freshly caught lunch!!

After going through several on-line sites came across Lochjaw Capt. and Jimmy but us on fish early and often. We selected the 5 hr bottom fishing trip, we caught plenty of Spot for a family fish fry that evening. Both Capt and Jimmy were great at helping when it was needed and letting us take care of ourselves when we could.

Great captain and first mate. Learned the best time to fish is in August and September in Solomon’s island. So we need to book early with Lochjaw.

Captain Loch put us onto the fish almost immediately and the fishing never slowed down! The captain and first mate were very pleasant and knowledgable, gave us tips, fun information, and a great over all experience. Captain Loch and first mate Monica took my dad and a friend of mine out bottom fishing catching many great sized spot! It was a beautiful day on a beautiful clean boat with working rods and reels. Definitely will be going out with them again!

Booked this trip about 6 weeks ago. I did a little reading on forums/facebook and heard the fishing was poor recently in the bay area. Didnt experience that at all. We found Rockbass within an hoir and had our limit within 3.5 hours plus let several go that were over the slot. Great trip and great experience. We will go back soon!!
