San Francisco has a fish with your name on it, so let Pamela J Charters help you catch it!

You're likely to go after Striped Bass, Crab, Halibut, Lingcod, Ray, Rockfish, Chinook Salmon, White Seabass, Leopard Shark, Shrimp, Sturgeon, and more, depending on when you go. On the day of your trip you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light tackle.

Your vessel for the day is a 30' Island Hopper sportfishing vessel with room for 6 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are included. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.

Before coming aboard, you'll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be some light snacks included on board.

Now, come aboard with Pamela J Charters and get hooked!

Half day of Fishing on August 23, 20265 adults

Captain Matt and Vincent are the best! They truly made this trip memorable. We did a half-day trip and ended up catching a little over 50 fish! 🎣 Captain Matt did his best to get us into areas that were biting, and I really appreciated that he travels a little farther out than most tours. It really gives you that true “deep sea experience” you’re looking for. Before booking, I always like to give the captains a call. After calling several different tours, Matt was the only one who gave me genuine and honest responses. He doesn’t just want to collect your money—he genuinely cares about your experience and makes the trip feel tailored to you. I’ll definitely be back for a full-day trip, and we’ll only be booking with Matt and Vincent! 🎣❤️

Full Day Trip – salmon on August 11, 20264 adults

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Amazing Salmon Fishing Experience! We booked our first-ever salmon and saltwater fishing charter today, and the experience completely exceeded every expectation we had! From start to finish, Captain Matt and Vince were absolutely incredible. Their knowledge, experience, and expertise were obvious from the moment we got on the boat. They knew exactly where to take us, what to look for, and how to put us on the fish. We hit our max salmon limit—and then some—well before we even reached the halfway point of the day, with plenty to spare for the crew! I don't think we could have asked for a better first experience. Matt and Vince were patient, helpful, and made sure we felt comfortable the entire time. Beyond being extremely good at what they do, they're just genuinely great people with awesome personalities. They kept us laughing, made the whole experience fun and relaxed, and made it feel like we were out fishing with friends who just happened to really know their stuff. We enjoyed every minute of the trip and honestly couldn't have asked to be in better hands for our first charter. They completely blew our expectations out of the water and set the bar incredibly high for any fishing trip we take in the future. We will 100% be booking with Matt again, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him and Vince to any of my friends or family looking for an unforgettable fishing charter. 10/10. Incredible crew, incredible fishing, and an experience we'll be talking about for a long time. Can't wait to do it again! Matt and Vince, if you guys are reading this; thanks for giving me and my friends the highlight of our year. See you again soon. P.S. Plz send the pics ty xD

Hard work put us on the fish
Full Day Trip – salmon on July 12, 2026

Seeing the salmon bite from the weekend, I decided to book a trip on FV_Plumeria with Matt & Vince. My first pacific salmon trip in a long time. Once we were at the place Matt put us on the fish in the morning! We had the first few fish by noon and the bite turned off.... We tried all over the place, it was grind and the bite was very slow, one by one we had fish. We stayed out later than most of the fleet until everyone had fish. This was my first Salmon is almost 15yrs. I had a blast and went home tired with 2 quality samon. Biggest fish was 23lbs and put up a fight!! Matt & Vince did everything they could do to get us on the fish!! I am planning to go out again before the season closes on the FV_Plumeria of course!!

Top Tier Fishing, Outstanding Crew, Lifetime Memories
Full Day Trip – salmon on July 12, 2026

I fished aboard the Pamela J on July 12, 2026, out of San Francisco, and it was nothing short of fantastic. Departing under the Golden Gate Bridge at sunrise was a breathtaking start. Captain Matt Juarez and deckhand Vincent made the entire day memorable. They were knowledgeable, patient, and went above and beyond to ensure everyone had a great time—whether it was helping us land salmon, taking group photos, or keeping the mood light with music and laughs. We even had whales and dolphins show up, making the day even more special. The crew’s dedication, especially Vincent’s, stood out—he truly wanted us all to succeed. By the end of the trip, we had quality fish and a boatload of great memories. Highly recommend the Pamela J for an all-around stellar fishing experience!

Full Day Trip – salmon on July 3, 20266 adults

5 friends and I went out looking for salmon with Captain Matt and our deckhand Vincent last week. We were celebrating a birthday, and decided to go fishing. All of us like to fish/crab from shore and have been on a fishing boat in the Atlantic, but salmon fishing and going out in CA was going to be new to us. Talking beforehand, the whole goal was to have a fun day on the water, and that energy was instantly matched by Captain Matt before we got on the boat. He’s knowledgable, incredibly responsive by text as we were getting organized, and helped answer all our logistical questions. Before we headed out under the golden gate he and Vincent gave us a safety briefing and some intro to the baits we were using and what to do in the case we hooked up. It’s a good thing they gave us those tips, because as soon as the lines were in the water we were pulling up salmon and stripers! To our great delight, these were some HUGE fish too. As a group if we caught enough fish to have a big group dinner, that would have been a win. We went well beyond that, and took on a TON of keepers. Even with the catch split up into 6 parts, ALL of us had to clear freezer space at home. We’re all planning dinners to host each other just so we can put a dent in amount of fish. The cooler on board was overflowing to the point we had to start stocking fish in the drinks cooler we brought. Fishing isnt always catching, but you won’t find a team more dedicated to getting you catching than Captain Matt and Vincent. They both did their jobs supremely well and worked in tandem throughout the day to find fish, adjust speed and line depths, give us tips as we were pulling the fish on board all while curating an incredibly fun day. Also he deserves a shoutout; the man of the day was 100% Vincent. He’s been working with Matt for years and this guy didn’t take a break the whole time we were out there. Vincent was laser focused on re-baiting the lines, setting up new bait, talking to Capt to make adjustments. Somehow he did all of this while being able to teach us and give us tips, take part in conversation AND scan the rods like every 15 seconds looking to see if we had a fish on in the case we missed a bite indication. If you’re looking for a great day on the water, look no further than the Pamela J Charter right here. They have less reviews than others, but it’s certainly due to them being newer to Fishing Booker and I expect that will change in rapid fashion as I fully expext they will put on a 5 star day for any guest. It’s crystal clear that these guys know exactly what they’re doing and will do everything they can to ensure you have a great day on the water. Writing this 2 days after our trip, and the 6 of us have been raving about this non-stop! The conversation keeps coming back to how much fun we had and how great the whole experience was and we’re already starting to work on plans for our next outing soon. When we do, we will 100% be back onboard with these guys, and I can’t recommend them enough!

Fishing in San Francisco
August 30, 2026
Today we hosted a fantastic group of six anglers for a half-day trip on the water. The crew had their eyes set on filling the fish box with rockfish, so we pointed the bow north and made a run up the coast. The fish were cooperative from the very first drop. The bite stayed hot, allowing us to make quick work of full boat limits for all six passengers, plus crew limits for Vincent and myself. It was a incredible day with a great group of guys—plenty of laughs, steady action, and plenty of fresh fillets heading home. Trip Summary: Party Size: 6 Anglers + 2 Crew Target Species: Coastal Rockfish Result: Full Boat Limits (8 total limits landed) We still have open dates available for upcoming salmon and coastal trips! Give us a call or send a message to secure your spot on the boat.

Date: August 26, 2026 Trip Type: Full-Day fishing Combo Conditions & Overview We headed up the coast early to hunt for rockfish and lingcod. The morning bite started off a bit slower than hoped, but persistence paid off as we worked structure to build a solid box. Once the coastal bite wrapped up, we made the run back down toward the bay to spend the afternoon drifting live bait. Catch Breakdown Rockfish: 5 f limits across the board after grinding through the morning drift. Lingcod: Boxed 5 beautiful, heavy-grade lings to add some serious muscle to the cooler. California Halibut: Finished the day strong in the bay, landing 7 beautiful flaties on live bait to cap off the trip. Deck Highlights & Wild Encounters Despite the sluggish start up north, the crew stayed on it and finished with an incredible overall spread. The highlight of the day was an absolute jaw-dropper: a massive Great White shark chased one of our hooked fish all the way up to the surface and slammed right into the swim step of the boat right in front of everyone on deck! Heavy fish, wild encounters, and plenty of fresh fillets heading home. Booking & Availability

Trip Details: Half-Day Private Charter Anglers: Guest family visiting from Poland Target Species: California Halibut, Leopards, Smooth-hounds, & Bat Rays Conditions: Fantastic weather, calm waters, and great action on the water Today's Action We kicked off the morning trolling for California halibut inside the bay. The action was steady, but the bay was feeling like a nursery today—plenty of aggressive "shakers" keeping the rods bending, though none quite hit the mark for the cooler. With the halibut bite showing mostly sub-legal fish, we shifted gears and set up on anchor to target sharks and rays. That turned out to be the winning call. The family had a blast putting four different species of sharks in the boat, along with some hard-fighting bat rays to test their stamina. Huge thanks to our group from Poland for bringing great energy aboard—nothing beats seeing guests experience top-tier bay action for the first time! Book Your Trip Looking to get out on the water while the weather is beautiful? We have spots open for both full-day coastal trips and action-packed half-day bay trips.

Morning Salmon & A Bonus Bonita What a way to cap off the last salmon run of August! We headed out with a phenomenal crew today, and the morning bite did not disappoint. The fish were aggressive right out of the gate, and we were able to stack them in the cooler fast. Once the early bite died down, it became a true mid-day grind, but the group stuck with it, kept the energy high, and filled the day with plenty of laughs. We ended up just one fish shy of full boat limits of salmon, plus a gorgeous, hard-fighting bonito to round out the catch. September Booking Update With August salmon behind us, the fishery temporarily closes and will re-open on September 1st. We are now officially taking bookings for September trips! Dates will fill up fast for the fall bite, so reach out today to lock in your spot on the boat.

Charter Fishing Report: Half-Day Hits & Bay Action Recent Half-Day Trip Highlights Coastal Rockfish Runs: Our 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM half-day trips over the past few weekends were a huge hit. We ran up the coast, dialed in the spot, and brought back near-limits of bottom fish for everyone on board—all before noon! It's the ideal option for folks wanting a quick morning on the water without committing to a full day. Inshore Bay Action: Today’s crew wanted non-stop action and cool catches, so we stayed local in the bay and targeted sharks and bat rays. They kept the rods bent and the reels screaming continuously all day long. Upcoming Opportunities If you are looking to get out on the water, spend a few hours bending rods, and take home some fresh fillets (or battle some bay giants), our half-day trips are firing on all cylinders. Great vibes, awesome groups, and non-stop fun on the water lately. Book your spot today and let's go bend some rods!
