There’s a fish with your name on it in Port Isabel and Captain Austin Fishing & Hunting will help you catch it!

Depending on conditions, you might hook into Black Drum, Snook, Sheepshead, Speckled Trout, Flounder, Redfish, Mangrove Snapper, and who knows what else! You’ll target your catch by spinning, popping, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

If you’re traveling with the family, you will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Snacks are never a bad idea so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!

Your boat for the day is a 23’ Majek center console with space for 6 passengers. It has all the essentials. Capt. Austin will provide rods and reels for you. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.

Before coming aboard, it will be necessary to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

Don’t forget to bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
