Open Water Charters
If you're in the market for a day to remember, look no further than Open Water Charters. Your guide for the day is Captain Brett, offering years of sportfishing experience.
Around here the fishing is popular for Fluke, Bluefish, Black Seabass, Striped Bass, Scup (Porgy), Tautog, Red Hake, Shark and more if you come at the right time of year. On the day of your trip you're likely to drift fish using heavy tackle. Light tackle would be available when fishing inshore.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Also remember to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
You'll be fishing aboard a 32' Albermarle sportfishing boat that can carry up to 6 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, along with lures. Live bait is included, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 15% - 20% tip is customary.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, just show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
It's never a bad idea to bring a hat, sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray) and a small cooler with drinks and snacks. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
The click of a button is the only thing keeping you from a great day on the water with Open Water Charters!

Captain Brett was the best. He was well prepared, gave us a couple different options and he helped teach my 6 year old son. We opted for bottom fishing over jigging and had a huge haul by the end of the day. We landed 13 porgies that were keeper-sized and 1 keeper-sized weak fish. We also released about 7-8 smaller fish so we landed over 20 fish in 3 hours. Then Captain Brett asked us how we'd like the fish prepared and sure enough, he filleted all 14 keepers for us. We had a great time on the boat and had a great seafood dinner that night. Would definitely recommend Captain Brett to anybody in the area. Thank you! - Scott R.

Capt Brett was excellent and worked hard the whole trip. It was a very enjoyable experience and I would not hesitate to recommend him.
Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I really enjoyed having both aboard.
We had a perfect day with Capt Brett, his crew, my two teenage boys and grandma! Caught 60+ fish, 15 keepers-large sea bass, fluke, and ling. They were also great helping grandma with a make-shift fishing chair, and she pulled up at least 15 fish. Will definitely fish with them again.
Captain and mate were friendly, knowledgeable, and made the whole outing enjoyable. We were especially excited to land a big fluke! Highly recommend booking with Brett if you’re looking for a fun and successful day of fishing.
Very accommodating and fun! Lots of fish and laughs.
