Book your next trip with V.O. Charters and find out what the fishing in Port Isabel/ South Padre Island is all about. Your guide for the day is Captain Victoria Ortiz (Tory) so you’ll benefit from years of sportfishing experience.

Black Drum, Flounder, Redfish, Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper, Snook, Speckled Trout, and more could be biting, depending on the time of year. Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself light tackle fishing, popping, drifting, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. And artificial lure trips are available as well!

Trips with V.O. Charters are fun for all ages, so get ‘em offline and onto the water! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, they provide life jackets for children of all sizes! All children under the age of 13 are required under Texas law to wear a life jacket. Remember to bring plenty of snacks to ward off mid day fatigue

Your day begins aboard a 21’ Shallow Sport with room for 4 passengers. It has a bow casting platform for spotting Redfish in the flats, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, as well as lures. Live bait is included, except for croaker, with the charter price. Depending on what time of year it is, we’ll determine what bait we will be using.

Before coming aboard, it is required for anyone 17 or older to buy a local fishing license. This information is usually available online, via the Texas Parks and Wildlife website, or you can ask the captain for any other suggestions. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.

Don’t forget to bring sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. Drinks will be available for you. Your welcome to bring your own alcoholic beverages, but glass bottles are prohibited.

If there’s more you’d like to know about fishing with V.O. Charters, feel free to send Capt. Victoria a message.

This trip is a great choice for anglers who want extra fishing time for an affordable price.

The redfish are schooling up and we will be targeting them in the flats of the Lower Laguna Madre. Trout action has been great as well, we will be using live shrimp under a popping cork.
