Depending on the time of year, you might hook into Striped Bass, Bluefish, Tautog, Scup (Porgy), Mako Shark, Thresher Shark, Black Seabass, Cod, Little Tunny (False Albacore), Bonito, Flounder, and who knows what else! Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself spinning, popping, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Jimmy Ocean Fishing Guiding Service welcomes kids aboard, so go ahead and bring your little ones! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Don’t forget to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
Your adventure begins aboard a 23’ Sailfish center console that can carry up to 3 passengers. It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. You’ll find rods, reels, bait and tackle waiting for you, along with lures.
It’s never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, and sunscreen. Water will be provided. Alcohol is not allowed.

What a great day!

I can’t say enough great things about the time we had with Jimmy! I took my 19-year-old son, and his friend, both of whom are experienced fisherman with me on this charter. The captain worked full-time to keep us constantly baited and anchored in the right place to catch fish, despite the windy weather. We caught a large bag full of keepers, as well as about three times that that we had to throw back. It was a different type of fishing than we were used to, but he was very patient and helpful to show us the right way to catch tautog. They made for an absolutely delicious dinner that night with enough left over for a few more this week! I captain is a really nice guy, clearly knows what he’s doing, and we had an absolute blast!

You couldn’t ask for a nicer guy or more knowledgeable captain. He loves fishing and it shows! Jimmy knows the area waters and the fish so well. On this perfect flat calm and warm September Saturday we absolutely slayed. We got bag limits on tog with one fish at ten, one at 8, and two at 6 lbs. He happily released the females, which is important for the future of the fishery. We also caught bag limit on beautiful delicious seabass with a few 3-4 lbers in the mix. And just when we thought the day was winding down, a school of fish came through. And off we went! When we were done we had an Albie and a green Bonita and some mackerel species in the boat as well. We saw whales and dolphins out there too. Finally, he takes his time and filets beautifully. So…highly recommend for sure. FWIW. I have done a lot of charters with a lot of guys. This was my first but def not last trip with Jimmy. Also. Unlike many charter guys and their mates… he does not smoke.

Jimmy brought us straight to active waters where we caught mackerel, sea bass, stripers, and tog. He is a fantastic guide and lots of fun to be around. Every fish put up a fight and Jimmy knows where the big ones are hiding. One for the record books!
