If you’re ready to love fishing in Airlie Beach, look no further than Whitsundays Sports ‘n’ Spear. Captain Kristin will be your guide, which allows you to benefit from years of angling experience.
Coral Trout, Barramundi, Narrow-barred Spanish Mackerel, Nannygai, Red Emperor Snapper, Sweetlip Emperor, Giant Trevally, and more inhabit these waters, depending on the time of year. For these species, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light tackle. For the more adventurous among you, there’s spearfishing.
Trips with Whitsundays Sports ‘n’ Spear are fun for all ages, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. And, you can’t go wrong with snacks to maintain your energy throughout the trip!
You’ll find yourself aboard a 19’ SouthWind center console with room for 5 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
You can’t go wrong when you bring sunglasses, a hat, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation. There will be food and some light snacks available on board for half days, full lunch for full day charters.
Now and then the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. So make it happen, with Whitsundays Sports ‘n’ Spear!

Kristin was a great guide. My friend and i came from America to arlie beach and were verrry motivated to get out fishing. It was pooring rain the day we booked but was calm enough to go out anyway, and kristin sat in the awful weather with us while we caught a bunch of awesome fish like nannies, coral trout, mac tuna, cod, and big ole saltwater catfish! Great day on the water. Highly recommend his services. Very knowledgeable.
