The Reel Grind
Ready to cast a line in South Florida? The Reel Grind is your ticket!
You're likely to go after Peacock Bass, Largemouth Bass, Gar, Sunfish, Crappie, and more if you cast your line at the right time of year.
Families making a day of it will be glad to know that kids are welcome aboard! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Also remember to bring snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!
Your vessel for the day is a 21' Kenner center console with capacity for 2 passengers. It comes with all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Your captain will provide rods and reels. Live bait is available.
You will need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
A few items to bring include sunscreen (non-spray), and sunglasses. There will be bottled water on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Awesome 3-Hour Trip with The Reel Grind!
Took my nephew out for a 3-hour fishing trip with The Reel Grind and had a great time. Captain Alejandra Acosta was fantastic, super friendly, punctual, and helpful from the start. He even assisted me with getting my fishing license beforehand, which made things smooth. The boat was perfect for a two-person trip, and the captain made sure we were comfortable and guided us throughout. Great experience overall, would definitely book with him again!

Great day of fishing!
We had a great time fishing with Alejandro and his wife. I think we got one of the better tours of the Everglades that one could get, with lots of sea birds, and lots of alligators. On top of that we caught too many to count, largemouth bass, Oscars, and Cichlids using a combination of live bait and lures. On this vacation, we fished with Alejandro in the Everglades, a trip in the intercoastal waterway, and deep water in the Atlantic, and the trip with Alejandro was by far our favorite of the vacation. Will definitely reach out and plan for another fishing trip the next time we are in Fort Lauderdale.

Skeptical….
I was a little apprehensive about booking a trip via an app. The process was easy and updates were consistent. The fishing date came and at first it was a little scary as we didn’t know what to expect. and the fog was thick. Captain Alejandro and his first mate/wife (Kaycie) were informative, helpful, cautious and very patient with my 10 year old and mostly with me🤭. Captain Alejandro made sure to tell my son what we were fishing for and where to look to see if fish were feeding. So much so that my son would regularly point out things that he was told about. During the boat ride that morning the fog was very dense and visibility was limited. As a precaution we pulled over and fished a bit in order to let the fog lift. Him letting us fish was a great idea cause the boat ride would have taken an hour to not go very far. Lastly, we could not have asked to meet 2 better people. My actually asked if we come back tomorrow, but we already had plans. Ending the long story I would recommend The Reel Grind for a great experience and simply meeting good people.

Great Vibes on the Water
Went out in the Everglades to fish for the first time in a long while and ended going to some great spots. Caught a good amount of gar with my wife and she caught her first few fish. Overall great experience, Capt. Alejandro knows what he’s doing and an excellent fisherman. Will be going out again asap

This was a very unique charter, the captain was super nice super mellow and it was a comfortable trip altogether. This is stress free fishing with TONS of catches. We caught almost 50 today easily Bass, Gar, Cichlids, Oscars. Comfy boat, super helpful and knowledgeable, definitely going again.
