Tangalle's waters are known for Giant Trevally, Great Barracuda, Skipjack Tuna, Dorado, Dogtooth Tuna, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Rusty Jobfish, Green Jobfish, and more. With a little luck, your reel will be buzzing in no time!
On your Reel Crazy trip, expect to try trolling, popping, vertical jigging, and bottom fishing using either rod-and-reel or hand-line tackle. If you're bringing kids, rest assured Captain Jude enjoys teaching young anglers; just check with him to ensure life vests are available in the right size.
Captain Jude's 20-foot sport fishing boat can comfortably accommodate up to 3-4 passengers, with any additional fees negotiable directly with him. Rods and reels are available but must be discussed with the captain beforehand, as he can rent them at a good price. Guests are also welcome to bring their own gear, including lures. For popping, special tackle is recommended; Captain Jude can help you prepare and organize all necessary gear for the trip.
A First Mate will assist you to ensure a smooth trip. There's no need to worry about a fishing license, so you can focus solely on the thrill of the adventure.

Captain Jude put on an amazing trip for us! He is super passionate and helpful and clearly loves what he does! Despite hard bite conditions he put us on the fish and we ended up with a boatfull! I would recommend Reel Crazy for anyone looking to go fishing I Sri Lanka, Jude is incredibly knowledgeable about the fishery and has great equipment that other boats in the area just don't offer. Had a great fishing experience with Reel Crazy - Tangalle Sport Fishing Tours! We went for a 5-hour morning fishing trip with the guys. Everything was well organized! The team is very experienced and knowledgeable, very familiar with the location and its best fishing spots. We were provided various kinds of equipment, as we did not have our own with us, and it was good quality. Had a amazing experience with Jude. Definitely a well known fisherman and knows all the good spots. We did different types of fishing (trolling and spinning) with both had great success. Jude is a passionate fisher who loves to give the tour. The boat itself was perfect for the activity, had 2 trolling attachments and the rods themselves were also great (Europeaan high quality). Some fishing boats around us clearly didn't have the same type of material as us, no trolling attachments at the boat, only spinning reels and no baitrunners. Also insurance, applying at the coast guard was all fixed for me which gave me a good feeling. Jude speaks good English and is in for a good laugh, definitely nice to spend a day with him on the boat.
