Make an adventure out of your next trip in Quepos and go fishing with ayla Sportfishing. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain can tell you all about the local fishery.
Depending on the season, you might hook into Amberjack, Snook, Black Marlin, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Red Snapper, Wahoo, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Roosterfish, Spanish Mackerel, and plenty more.
You'll target your catch by spinning, popping, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Cynthia can also have you Flounder gigging.
Feel free to take home some of the fish you catch, so long as regulations allow it. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Now that's dinner!
Thinking of bringing the whole family? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. And, you can't go wrong with snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!
Your boat for the day is a 27' Sportfishing with space for 4 passengers. It has outriggers, downriggers, all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.
Your captain will provide rods and reels, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
A First Mate will be there to make sure everything is running smoothly. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.
You might need to get a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect.
It's recommended to bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks available on board.
