If fishing in Olhão is on your bucket list, look no further than Jauto - Fishing charter. Captain Joao will be your guide, which means you'll tap into years of local experience.

Depending on conditions, you might hook into Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Albacore Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Skipjack Tuna, Bonito, Dolphin (Mahi Mahi), Bigeye Tuna, Dentex, Gilt-head (Seabream), and who knows what else!

On the day of your trip you're likely to troll and bottom fish.

Fishing on these trips is strictly for sport and everything you catch will be released.  Capt. Joao can even clean your catch for you.

You'll be fishing aboard a 34' Sportfishing that holds up to 6 passengers. It has outriggers, everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience.

Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, along with lures. Live bait is available, but it's good to ask about this so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.

Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.

A few items to bring include a hat, sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). Drinks are included, free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be food and some light snacks for you on board.
