Capt. Joshua welcomes children aboard, so get 'em offline and onto the water! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Customers are encouraged to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
You'll be casting lines from a 23' Flats boat that holds up to 5 passengers. It has downriggers, all the essentials no fishing machine can run without.
You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
Before coming aboard, you'll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.
Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray). Drinks will be available for you. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. No drugs allowed!

I’ve been on a lot of guided fishing trips, but this is one of the best! Our trip was supposed to start at 7 AM, so my son and I showed up a little early and Captain McDonald was already there ready to go. After about 10 minutes boating (awesome boat BTW) to our first fishing spot, we cast the first line and BAM, landed our first keeper Spec! First cast! we ended up limiting out on specs in the first couple hours and moved to Black Drum. Ended up limiting out on Black Drum as well and caught a lot of different fish in between. Bottom line, we had a great time, a blast fishing, great conversation and Captain McDonald was awesome!

Joshua was super honest about expectations and we agreed that because I had my kids with me we wanted fast action to keep them engaged. boy was he right! In about 2 hours of fishing we put 11 in the cooler not to mention how many we caught but couldn’t keep. We come back every summer and Joshua is my guide from now on.

Captain Josh worked hard for us today and kept us on the fish. He knew after the first few casts if we were going to be productive, if not he would get us to another spot quickly and get us fishing again. Josh was very helpful with my 7 year old grandson and had everything he needed for a youngster his age. He helped us make some wonderful memories today. Fishing was tough but Captain Josh worked hard for our catch. He was patient and informative with my daughters since it was their first time on a boat. The best thing that made him stand out was when some strong storms came in, he didn’t call it quits and run back to the dock like all the other boats’ captains did. He avoided the storms and waited them out. And when it was over, we continued fishing. I will definitly book him again next summer!
