Experience the thrill of sportfishing in Costa Rica, where the waters are abundant in marlin, sailfish, yellow-finned tuna, Mahi Mahi, snapper, Roosterfish, grouper and so many more species!

Your knowledgeable and experienced captain and mate will make your day on the water a wonderful experience.

Local species include Marlin, Sailfish, Yellowfin Tuna, Mahi Mahi, Cubera Snapper, Roosterfish, and more, depending on when you go. You can expect to do some spinning, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Black Snapper II also offers fly fishing, but you do need to bring your own fly gear.

Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! We have child-sized life vests, but for toddlers you should bring your own. We provide snacks and drinks, as well as a sandwich for lunch to keep you fueled up throughout your trip!

Your day begins aboard a Modified 26' Ocean Master center console that holds up to 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, a fighting chair, everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a private toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are provided, as well as lures. Live bait is an option, but must be caught during the trip.

There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. A 15–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.

Before coming aboard, you'll need to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain.

Don't forget to bring sunscreen (non-spray), a hat and sunglasses. There will be some drinks on offer, but let the captain know if you wish to bring your own. Alcohol is allowed in moderation. There will be food and some light snacks included on board.

Now, come aboard with Black Snapper II and get hook

Beautiful day on the water
Half Day Trip – Inshore on December 30, 20252 adults
My wife and I wanted to do a day of near shore fishing targeting snapper/jacks/rooster or whatever. we soent a good hour and a half looking for live bait with no luck before switching to trolling up and down the beach and in front of a river mouth for anither hour or so with no luck. Not wanting to get skunked, we shifted gears and went a little deeper to troll for billfish/mahi. they did finally get us on a sailfish that put on a good show. We were a little disappointed in the lack of action early in but that is fishing sometimes. Captain Eric and his mate Snacker made the day a fun one anyway with good food and cold drinks. they even stayed out about an hour extra trying everything they could to get more fish in the boat. I wouldn't shy away from booking with these guys again.
