Book your next trip with Tonquin Fishing Charters and find out what makes the fishing in Tofino so unique. Your guide for the day is Captain John, which means you'll tap into years of angling experience.

Chinook Salmon, Coho Salmon, Halibut, Lingcod, Albacore Tuna, Rockfish, and more inhabit these waters if you cast your line at the right time of year. Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself fishing with heavy tackle, trolling, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.

Tonquin Fishing Charters welcomes kids aboard, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks for a boost of energy when needed!

Your boat for the day is a 25' Pursuit sportfishing vessel that can carry up to 5 passengers. It has downriggers, all the essentials. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, along with lures. Live bait is available, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.

Before coming aboard, it will be required to buy a local fishing license for everyone in your group. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species may be off limits or require a special tag, so make sure you know what to expect.

You can't go wrong when you bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunblock (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Give yourself something to look forward to and book a trip with Tonquin Fishing Charters!

Half Day Trip

Captain John knows his fishing

VERIFIED
NEW

I have gone on a number of chartered fishing trips over the years, as well as my own trips in my boat and others boats. John could find fish in a desert. He worked extremely hard to get us into fish, and the work he put in paid off with a huge cache of springs and lings(and a couple of rockfish as incidental catch). It wasn’t the fact the 4 of us on the charter caught a lot of fish that impressed me most, it was how hard John worked to get us onto fish. In a 6 hour trip we dropped 170 pounds of fish off at the processor and in addition John filleted up a couple fish for dinner for our group of 13. If you are in Tofino and anxious to catch fish I don’t think you could do better than booking with John. (Selfishly, hoping this review doesn’t mean next time I come he is booked solid). Thanks John.
