Time of the year will determine where you'll find Fish Whistle Charters and Capt. Wally.

Fish Whistle Charters starts their year out on the Hudson River in Rensselaer County catching Striped Bass migrating up the river from the Atlantic to spawn. Capt. Wally has been fishing this area for over 20 years and catching a Striped Bass should be on every angler's bucket list. They are quite the fish to fight aboard and make for a memorable experience.

During the Summer, Fish Whistle Charters will make their way out to Western NY to catch Coho Salmon, Chinook Salmon, Atlantic Salmon, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Lake Trout, and Brown Trout on the Great Lake Ontario. On these trips, it’s common to troll using light or heavy tackle.

Come the Fall, Fish Whistle Charters will be entering Salmon River and its Estuary to fish for King and Coho Salmon on their yearly run. Fly fishing is the technique of choice, and Capt. Wally will have your gear for you.

Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask so Capt. Wally can have one on board.

During the Spring and Summer, Capt. Wallace welcomes you aboard a 24' Wellcraft walkaround with room for 6 passengers. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Once he enters the Salmon River, you and your companion will be aboard his drift boat. Waders and cleats recommended.

It's recommended to bring sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Please be mindful of the weather, rain gear may be recommended. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, just be sure to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
