Depending on conditions, you might hook into Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Flounder, Gag Grouper, Scamp Grouper, Snowy Grouper, Grunt, Hogfish, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Blue Marlin, Black Seabass, Vermilion Snapper, and plenty more. For these species, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.

Trips with Hot Reels are open to the whole family, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! If you don't have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there's one on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks to ward off any mid-trip fatigue!

You'll find yourself aboard a 50' Striker sportfishing vessel that holds up to 12 passengers. It comes with outriggers, and everything you need for a productive day on the water. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures. Live bait is included, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.

Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 10–20% tip.

Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, just show up ready for some fishing! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.

It's recommended to bring sunglasses, sunscreen (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
