If you're ready to start fishing in Chincoteague, book a trip with Reed and Reel Fishing Company. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain William can tell you all about the local fishery.
These waters are known for Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, Flounder, Striped Bass, Sheepshead, Black Drum, Black Seabass, Cobia, Gray Triggerfish, and more – with any luck, you'll find out for yourself! Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself spinning, popping, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Kids are welcome, so get 'em offline and onto the water! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Feel free to bring your own snacks to stay fueled throughout your trip!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 24' Carolina Skiff with space for 4 passengers. It comes with all the essentials. Capt. William has rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself.
Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.
Some essentials to bring are sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water. If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles. There will be bottled water provided.
Now, time to hit the water with Reed and Reel Fishing Company!

4 Hour Trip (PM)
I wanted to book a trip with someone who knew alot about the island. Captain William has excellent knowledge of the history of the island and gave me great information about all the fishing available in the area. A true pleasure to spend a 4 hour trip with him.We caught alot of fish noting legal but if you’re a fisherman you know thats just how it goes some days. I have taken many charters and his trip was right up there with the best. Don’t miss out on this charter. I know I will be booking the next time I am in the area

4 Hour Trip (PM)
We had 4h perfect hours of a family friendly fishing trip. Though our fishing skills were quite widely spread (absolut beginner to 35years of fishing-addiction) everyone had fun and more then one (small) catch. After 3 hours at a beautyfull spot in the Marshs we still had time to move on. As Billy is Chincoteague born and bred he could he easily fullfilled our daughters wish and brought us close to some Ponys (Phoenix Wildfire was one of them), Dolphins and a bald Eagle sat close by to watch us pass. Wildlife never gives a guarantee to show up but with a little patience and a great guide like Billy there is a very good chance to see plenty. We are gratefull for this experience, thank you!

4 Hour Trip (PM)
Capt Billy is a proud young man, having grown up in this area. He knows the water, the history and the ponies! He was such a joy-he provided everything we needed and made sure we were all set for our wonderful 4 hour adventure. He had plenty of different kinds of poles so when we changed areas to fish we were using the right one. He provided us great narrative and history of this area (we have just moved to DE) and he took us to many different sites on the water. He also is personally involved with maintaining the ponies, a huge part of the culture and attraction to this area (his family has a long history and involvement in generations of the Chincoteague horses and fishing community). While we didn't catch the fish we wanted, it was not for a lack of trying. We went ALL over the bay and then some trying different spots. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously on a sun soaked evening! We'd highly recommend Capt Billy and Reed and Reel for your fishing and history and knowledge of this lovely area.

Billy really knows where the fish are! We started in the morning catch catching black drum in an inlet. What a fun fight and great eating fish! We then moved in shore, casting for puppy drum and Billy was so good. He was able to teach my three year-old how to cast and reel in and he actually caught a puppy drum right away, an experience I’ll never forget. We then moved a good ways away and started casting for speckled trout, which we ended up catching a few with a beautiful sunset in the background just and unreal fishing experience. Nothing fancy or pampered just fishing hard.

My family and I have done multiple charters in Chincoteague now, we’ve always caught fish and I considered that a win - but after going out with Billy I can say he is the best. His knowledge of the island is unmatched- many locals were yelling hello to him and asking where to fish that day. He is ambitious, personable, and fun to fish with. Plus he gave us so many island recommendations that were all great. 10/10
