Jacob Segars specializes in fishing the waters around Navarre and invites you along for a trip to remember.

Around here you can cast a line in inshore waters, including some spots that only the locals know about.

The name of the game around here is heavy tackle fishing, which is what you'll be doing on the day of your trip. Jacob will provide rods and reels, as well as lures and live bait.

There's no guarantee when you're fishing, but just some of the species you can catch around here include Leopard Shark, Bonnethead Shark, Nurse Shark, Gummy Shark, Blue Shark, and more if you cast your line at the right time of year.

Fish caught during your trip will be released. Up to 26 anglers are welcome on these excursions. You'll make your way to the fishing grounds on foot, so dress accordingly and bring only as much as you can carry.

Everyone in your group should buy a local fishing license ahead of time. You can find out more online, including exceptions that may apply. Plan to dress in layers and appropriate footwear (if you aren't sure what that means, just ask). It's never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen, rain or shine.

Children are welcome to come along. They should always wear life vests, so find out if Jacob has the right size available or bring your own.
