Madera’s Sport Fishing
Puerto San Carlos has a fish with your name on it, so let Madera’s Sport Fishing help you catch it! Having spent countless hours on these waters, Captain Jorge knows the local tides like the back of his hand.
Pacific Barracuda, Fingermark Bream, Calico Bass, Mahi Mahi (Dolphinfish), Flounder, Broomtail Grouper, Indian Threadfish, Striped Marlin, Roosterfish, Jack Crevalle, Cubera Snapper, and more inhabit these waters, depending on the season.
On these trips, it's common to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle. Capt. Jorge also offers fly fishing, though you may need to bring your own fly gear. For the more adventurous, spearfishing is also available.
Madera’s Sport Fishing welcomes kids aboard, so feel free to make it a fun family outing! Children must wear life jackets, so be sure to ask if the appropriate size is available on board. And you can't go wrong with snacks; luckily, Capt. Jorge has some on board!
Your fishing machine for the day is a 23' Panga that can accommodate up to 3 passengers. It comes equipped with all the essentials.
You'll find rods, reels, tackle, and lures ready for you. Live bait is included, though it's a good idea to ask in advance whether you'll be catching it yourself.
Trips are run with the help of a First Mate. A 10–20% tip is customary to show your appreciation for their hard work.
Your fishing license for the day is included with the charter, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Keep in mind that some fish may need to be released due to local regulations. Your captain will help ensure you follow all applicable rules.
It's always a good idea to bring bottled water, sunglasses, and non-spray sunscreen. Drinks are included free of charge. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, provided you avoid hard liquor and glass bottles. Food and light snacks will also be available on board.
How often would you rather be fishing? Turn that daydream into reality with Madera’s Sport Fishing.

With two decades of experience dedicated to open-sea sport fishing, I have developed my skills across various coastal areas, facing a wide range of weather conditions and fishing environments. Over the years, I have perfected techniques such as trolling, jigging, popping, bottom fishing, and fly fishing, targeting species such as Tuna, Sailfish, Marlin, and other pelagic fish. I have participated in numerous sport fishing tournaments, both recreational and competitive, earning recognition for outstanding catches. I also have extensive knowledge of nautical chart reading, sonar and marine GPS operation, small boat handling, and safety procedures at sea. My experience includes responsible fish handling and release practices, respect for local and international fishing regulations, and a commitment to promoting sustainable sport fishing for future generations.
